OntorNet (“wait for the net”) is Lebanon's name for its internet service, ranked 186th globally, with the slowest internet connection. The average download speed is seven times lower than the global average, while the cost is twelve times higher, leaving people frustrated

In a country driven by fads and a population skilled at humor in adversity, we decided to blend both elements. Our approach to slow connectivity was, fittingly, slow as well. We created unscripted films featuring real people in rural areas engaging with some of the hottest social media trends from 2014—two years late
